A rookie shortstop from Loyola Marymount University, Johnson enters his first year of professional baseball with the Captains. In his final season at Loyola in 2011, he hit .274 with 32 runs and 54 hits in 54 games. He is tied for the school record with 19 career triples and in 2010, tied the single-season record for triples (9). He was named first team All West Coast Conference in 2009. A 2007 graduate of Lakewood (Calif.) High School, Johnson was a three-time captains and two-time All-Star. He batted .446 his senior year. Johnson majored in sociology at Loyola Marymount.
