A product of Berry College in Rome, Ga., Palmer Karr Jr. enters his second season with the Shreveport-Bossier Captains. An All-American outfielder while at Berry, Karr has also been All-Star in professional baseball every season since 2007. In '07, Karr was named United League playoff MVP with the league champion Alexandria Aces. During the regular season that year, he hit .276 with 18 home runs and 86 RBIs. In 2009, he set the single-season home run record for the Brockton Rox (CanAm), with 19 long balls. In 2010, he hit seven RBIs for the Captains in the American Association playoffs, tying a league-high. Last season, he batted .317 with 13 home runs and 67 RBIs and had an .893 OPS. In the offseason, Karr runs baseball operations at Sports Center 280 in Birmingham, Ala.
