Built in 1986 for the Shreveport Captains (double-A, San Francisco Giants) of the Texas League, Fair Grounds Field used to be the site of top college football in Shreveport before the construction of Independence Stadium. The park holds 4,300 fans, and has undergone several renovations, including in 1999 and again in 2009.
